The Content Management System (CMS) is by Joomla. Even though I knew nothing about Joomla, I started this site using it figuring I could use the skill and best of all it was free and open source. For the forum, I was pondering between vBulletin or Invision but settled on a PHPBB board mainly because (are you seeing a trend here) it was free but also because it had many of the same features as the forums that require licensed software. The site design is a JA Purity template by Joomlart.com which I found simple, clean yet highly functional.
